Summary of the study
The study presents an in depth analysis
of demographic ageing in the EU. It assesses the implications in the
domains
of quality of life, health promotion and health care. It elaborates
projections concerning the number of people with
chronic health problems,
long-term care needs and number of informal carers, in 2020 and 2030.
Also, it presents
projections concerning expenditures on health and
long-term care for elderly people. The study was done for the
European
Commission, 2004-2005.

Summary of the study
“Elaboration of comparable statistics on dependent people”.
This statistical study presents available data concerning
dependent
adults and long term care in the Member states. It elaborates comparable
statistics concerning the number
of dependent adults, the characteristics
of people needing assistance for the activities of daily living
(ADL) and
instrumental activities of daily living (IADL). It presents
a
quantitative assessment of the nature of care needed and
provided.
It gives estimations concerning age structure, nature of care received,
and formulates proposals concerning
future surveys and classifications.
The study was done for Eurostat, 2003.

Reports were produced. The study was done by Applica,
CESEP and European Centre for the European Commission,
2007.

MEN AND WOMEN WITH DISABILITIES IN THE
EU STATISTICAL ANALYSIS OF THE LFS
AD HOC MODULE AND THE EU-SILC Summary of the study
This study presents an analysis and interpretation of statistial
data from the 2002 ad hoc module of the Labour Force
Survey, and
the EU-SILC. The analysis covers social conditions (notably, employment,
education and training,
discrimination, etc.) of people with chronic
illness and activity limitations. It presents a detailed econometric
analysis
supporting the analysis of each issue. It presents a quantitative
analysis of discrimination on the labour market. The
study was
done by Applica and CESEP for the European Commission, 2006.

Summary of the study
Elaboration
of the Eurostat publication "Disabled persons:
Statistical Data". The publication presents a collection
of
available data in the Member States concerning the number
of people with chronic illness and disability, the nature of
chronic illness and disability, the degree of disability, work,
unemployment, inactivity, etc. The study included
estimations
and proposals for the organization of European surveys. The study
was done for Eurostat, 1995.

Summary of the study
The Academic Network of European Disability experts (ANED) was established by the European Commission in 2008 to provide scientific support and advice for its disability policy Unit. It proposed a priority list of indicators:1. Disability rates / Demographics;
2. Personal and family life (Live);
3. Choice and control (Choose);
4. Access to goods and services (Enjoy);
5. Education and lifelong learning (Learn);
6. Work and employment (Work);
7. Income and poverty (Earn). In this report, we present first the methodology and then a discussion of available data enabling us to construct statistical indicators for each proposed item.
